This beautiful town started as a crossroads close to springs of fresh water at a place where there were several holly trees. Historically, travelers stopped by the springs to quench their thirst and rest a bit before proceeding on their journey. Consequently, the town of Holly Springs has a welcoming culture and its also a home to all with several fun activities to keep you entertained.

For fishing enthusiasts, you can make a point to go to the Bass Lake Park and Retreat Centre where a relatively big lake is stocked full of fish for your entertainment. And regardless of your age or lifestyle, you can be sure to be in awe of the Holly Springs Cultural Center which is the acclaimed home to southwestern Wake County dance, theater, music and more.

The Town of Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Department provides you with an extensive network of parks, greenways, facilities as well as a variety of athletic fields. And just across the street from Holly Springs Town Hall in the East Center Street Public Parking Lot, is where the special events of Holly Springs Farmers Market and Farm-to-Table Chef Series is held. These special events feature fresh local produce and artisanal foods, kids’ activities, giveaway prizes, live music, monthly cooking demonstrations and lots more.
